Come See The Wolves

Message From The President

Charlie and I have put 17 years into the sanctuary and it is time for us to retire. The decision came about per doctor recommendation due to health issues. We desire to keep the sanctuary open and are looking for qualified persons to manage it. You must reapply for a new USDA permit provided that you have two years of documented wildlife sanctuary experience. You will be responsible to attain your own board.
Although the sanctuary belongs to the public, the property is privately owned. A condition to take over the wolf sanctuary is to buy the land with the soul purpose of continuing the operation of the wolf sanctuary. The selling price of the land is $575,000 (below appraisal).

Please tell us in writing why you qualify. Send written offers via email or delivery service to:
Attorney Duane Wm. Schultz, P. C.
dwsgplaw@uci.net
219 N. W. E St.
Grants Pass, Or 97526
(541) 476-1900

In the mean time, we are still open for tours and have no plans to close the sanctuary.

You may contact us with any questions. This is a perfect opportunity for an energetic and passionate person to do their part in wildlife preservation. Charlie and I plan to move to the Oregon coast and live out the rest of our lives crabbing and fishing or just sleeping in . However, we will continue to give the wolves loving care and we hope that whoever takes over the sanctuary will do the same.

HAWS is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit corporation regulated by USDA as a class C exhibitor. We receive no tax payer money from government and are in no way connected to any wolf release programs. All our funding comes from tours, adoptions, sponsorships, donations and gift shop sales. Grants are very few and far between as most do not support wildlife sanctuaries. The sanctuary is run by volunteers. No paid staff including the founders for 16 years.
